One of the questions we hear most often in digital signage projects is "which brand?". The right answer usually starts with the space rather than the brand: how many hours a day will the display be on, how far away will viewers be, how bright is the environment, and what is the budget? The answers to these four questions determine the series; the brand is then chosen based on compatibility with the existing installation, service and delivery time. That said, there are important differences to know between the professional displays of the four major brands. The information below is based on product information published by the manufacturers as of September 2026; series names may change over time.
A quick comparison
Samsung: Tizen and a broad product family
Samsung professional displays come with Samsung's own operating system, Tizen. The range includes the 4K QM and QB series that run all day in branches and offices, the narrow-bezel VM series for video walls, the high-brightness OH series for behind-glass and outdoor use, the Flip touchscreen for meeting rooms, and LED solutions such as The Wall for large images. SSCSign runs inside Tizen displays; no separate player is needed. Details: Solutions we build with Samsung displays.
LG: webOS and options for large images
LG professional displays come with the webOS Signage operating system; the manufacturer's content management software is SuperSign. LG offers standard 4K series, narrow-bezel video wall panels, high-brightness shop window and outdoor displays, all-in-one displays for meeting rooms, and large-scale image solutions such as transparent OLED, indoor LED and MAGNIT. SSCSign also runs directly inside webOS displays. More details: Solutions we build with LG displays.
Philips: Android-based, a series for every budget
Philips-branded professional displays are made by PPDS, and most come with an Android-based processor; the manufacturer's cloud-based software is Wave. The range is broad, from the entry-level B-Line to the all-day Q-Line and the brighter D-Line, from X-Line video wall panels to high-brightness H-Line window displays and the T-Line touchscreen. The Android version of SSCSign can run on the display's processor; for models where this isn't possible, a small external player is used. More details: Solutions we build with Philips displays.
ViewSonic: CDE, ViewBoard and all-in-one LED
ViewSonic makes Android-based CDE series digital signage displays from 43 to 98 inches rated for 16/7 and 24/7 operation, ViewBoard touchscreens for meeting and training spaces, and factory-calibrated all-in-one LED displays from 135 to 231 inches. The Android version of our SSCSign software runs smoothly on these displays. You can find more details under Solutions we build with ViewSonic displays.
Which one for which job?
- Multi-branch corporate TV: Samsung Tizen or LG webOS. A player-free installation significantly reduces the number of cables and points of failure in setups with hundreds of displays.
- Video wall: Narrow-bezel panels from Samsung and LG, or Philips X-Line. LED is preferred where bezel lines are not wanted; for a detailed comparison, see our article Video wall or LED display?
- Shop window and outdoor: High-brightness series (Samsung OH, LG XE, Philips H-Line). Standard displays lose readability in direct sunlight.
- Meeting rooms and training: All-in-one displays from ViewSonic, Samsung and LG.
- Multi-location projects on a limited budget: Philips B-Line and Q-Line, ViewSonic CDE.
- A large display set up quickly in a lobby or hall: All-in-one LED solutions from ViewSonic and other global brands.
Using different brands together
Within the same project, Samsung displays in branches, an LG video wall in the lobby and ViewSonic displays in meeting rooms can be used together; all displays are managed centrally from the single SSCSign panel. For organizations that want to stay with the manufacturer's own software, we also offer installation and service only.
To make the right decision, a photo of the space, the number of displays and the closest viewing distance are usually enough. When you send us this information through the quote form, we evaluate two or three suitable options and present them with prices and delivery times.
