Two solutions stand out for projects that need a large image area: a video wall made of LCD panels and an LED display made of LED modules. Which one is right depends on viewing distance, ambient light, content structure and budget.
The differences at a glance
When is a video wall the right choice?
- In areas where viewers are close to the display: lobbies, meeting rooms, store interiors.
- If the content includes small text, tables or detailed images.
- If the application area is indoors and ambient light is under control.
- If the budget is limited and bezel lines between panels are not a problem for the content.
When is an LED display the right choice?
- For outdoor areas, building façades or applications in direct sunlight.
- If a very large image surface is needed.
- In applications where bezel lines are unacceptable: stage backdrops, brand films, artistic content.
- If the display needs to be designed in a non-standard size or shape.
Using both together
In large-scale projects, the two solutions are often used together: LED on the façade and a video wall indoors; LED behind the stage and a video wall in the foyer. Both display types can be managed centrally from a single panel through the SSCSign platform.
For us to make the right decision, a photo of the area where the display will be placed and the closest viewing distance are usually enough. When you send us this information through the quote form, we evaluate both options with their prices and present them to you.
